Here's how buying on BidCattle work in few simple steps:

  • Carefully review the listing.

  • If you have any additional questions about the item, you can converse directly with the seller by clicking on "Message Seller" within the auction page or contact the BidCattle Support team.
  • Enter your bid – that is at least as high current bid plus the minimal price increment for the category – and then click the Bid Now button.

  • Review your bid, and then click the Bid Now button.
  • Your bid is placed as the HIGHEST BID on the relevant listing and the seller notified via email of your action.
  • The seller has the option to contact you via BidCattle Messages to confirm and/or negotiate your bid.
  • When the listing ends, you'll receive an email indicating whether you've won the item and an explanation of what to do next.
  • Additionally, if you are outbid you will receive a notification and decide whether or not to place a higher bid.

Bidding for products is free on BidCattle and available to all registered members. Non-registered visitors can only access only partial listing information – Name, Category, Current Price – and are unable to participate to auctions. To start bidding today, register now!

A bid increment is the minimal amount your bid must exceed the current bid by. The increment is predetermined by the category you are bidding on:

  • For Purebred, a $5 minimum bid increment applies.
  • For Feed & Commercial auctions, a $0.01 minimum bid increment applies.
  • For Semen & Embryos, a $0.50 minimum bid increment applies.

Some sellers list their item with a fixed price in addition to an initial bid price. You can decide to purchase the listing immediately by clicking the Buy It Now button.

By selecting this option, the seller will be notified of your intention to purchase the item. Upon confirmation from the seller, the listing will end and you will receive an email indicating the next steps to finalize the transaction.

Each bid placed enters you into a binding contract with the seller. All bids are active until the listing ends and if you win an item, you’re obligated to purchase it.

As outlined in BidCattle Terms of Service retraction or cancellation of bids is not permitted on BidCattle.

We recommend you to review carefully the listing before placing and confirming your bid.

Some sellers specify a reserve price, which is a hidden minimum price for the item.

If the auction doesn’t hit the reserve amount set, the seller will have the opportunity to retract the item from the marketplace and/or repost it to extend the bidding period.

Even as the highest bidder on the item, if the reserve price is not hit, the seller is not obligated to sell the item.

Tokens are BidCattle currency. To post a new listing for a total of 30 days, a minimum of 1 token is required.

To learn more about BidCattle token and pricing policies, please check our dedicated section.

If your auction does not sell in that period, you will be given the opportunity to repost your listing for a fee of 1 token.

Once bids have been placed, you will be notified via e-mail and BidCattle Messages where you will have the opportunity to accept and/or negotiate the bid made by prospective buyers.

Answer all questions promptly, and provide detailed responses to keep your buyers confident. As outlined in BidCattle Terms of Service, the buyer has 7 business days to complete the payment according to the agreed terms of sale.

Please note that BidCattle only connects buyers and sellers, and it is the responsibility of the buyer and seller to finalize all details regarding payment and transport.

BidCattle will soon integrate a feature that enables Licensed Livestock Haulers to bid on completed Cattle Auctions.

Once the auction and transactions are complete, the buyer can initiate an auction for shipment of the item(s).

Please ensure your description is as accurate and complete as possible, as these details will be essential for the shipment auction. Information can be amended to an auction through the Edit auction link within the My auctions section of your account. However, to ensure a fair bidding environment, auctions may not be altered after the first bid has been made.

Auctions posted on BidCattle have a 30 day display life.

Sellers have the opportunity to wait for the auction to expire in 30 days from posting and accept or reject the highest bid at expiration.

Sellers can also agree to accept any Bid or BUY IT NOW offer before the auction expires. Doing so will close this auction, and the listing will be removed from active status.

At all time during the auction process, you can decide to sell your item and allow a bidder to purchase the item(s) before the auction expires. Simply select SELL IT NOW in the My Auctions section of your account.
